Krakatoa,that was western people called this volcano. Krakatau in Indonesian name, became most popular volcano in history since errupting in August 27, 1883. The sound of explotion can b heard over 4.600 kilometres and destroy half of the volcanoes body. The explotion came with giant tsunamy that destroy 295 village in West Coast Banten until South Sumatera.
Before errupted, Krakatau is an Island stand on Hindic Ocean. The eruption left three islands named Sertung Island, Island of Rakata or Giant Krakatoa, and Long Island or Small Krakatoa. Rakata is located at the south island with the highest hill, which reaches 813 meters above sea level. The Long Island high in the north of Rakata only 132 meters and the island in the northwest Sertung Rakata has a height of 182 meters above sea level.
Approximately 44 years later,which in December 1927, came a new burst in the middle of the three pieces of Ancient Krakatoa island. The new volcano was later given the name Mount Anak Krakatau, which now has a height of approximately 315 meters above sea level.
After 125 years of Ancient Krakatoa erupted, there are four remaining islands to be enjoyed at Krakatoa Islands. Rakata Island in the south side, Sertung on the northwest side, Long Island in the northeast with Anak Krakatoa was in the middle.
Group of islands that rose in the middle of the sea it looked exotic. White clouds seemed never to hang out on Mt Anak Krakatau.
Children KrakatauBurung-gulls flying over the mountains add beauty emanated from the middle of the Sunda Strait. The birds also indicate Anak Krakatau was safe to approach.
Sea, which seemed to embrace the mountains, the blue looks clean. Until the various types of fish that swim beneath the sea was clear from the ship.
There are many ways to enjoy the exoticism of Krakatoa. One was the way around, see the beauty of the ship. Without having to come down to the foot of the mountain, tourists can capture the charm of Anak Krakatoa off the ship.
But, if you want to enjoy more beautiful scenery, try to come down on the island of Rakata, or even at the foot of Mount Anak Krakatau. Of course, should remain heeding warnings from the Center for Volcanology and Disaster Mitigation or Monitoring Post Mount Anak Krakatau.
