Lanai Island

Lanai is a small island in the Hawaiian Islands that can be reached by plane about 30 minutes from Honolulu or Kahului (Maui). This Long island is only 18 miles (27 km) while the width is about 13 miles (21 km) with varying elevation from sea level to 3400 ft (1036 m).

I heard that Lanai was once known asPineapple Island. The visible landscape as we went "Shipwreck Beach" is very charming with background Molokai Island. Shipwreck Beach, white sand beaches stretching approximately 12 km, is a tempting place for a stroll along the beach, Sunbathing, picnic, but swimming is not recommended here.

The next morning after breakfast we headed to the Keahikawelo also known as the "Garden of the Gods" located about 11 kilometers north of Lanai City.
