Travel to Bahama

Bahamas taken from "the steel mar" in Spanish which means "shallow seas" or "ba-ha-ma" in Lucayan (indigenous Bahamas), which means large upper middle land, is a Commonwealth country that reside the capital at Nassau. This country had a population around 350,000 people have a small islands with white sand, the famous among them is the Cat Island, Harbor Island and Crocked Island located in the Atlantic Ocean, bordering with the United States, Cuba and the Caribbean. Many U.S. citizens who live or have a villa in the Bahamas seducted with its beautiful beach and the location is not far from the U.S.

It was said that when winter arrives in America, some U.S. citizens fled to the Bahamas. Still remember the late Ann Nicole Smith? She-also have luxury villas in Nassau.

No wonder, because this tropical country had a bright sunlight with a gust of cool sea water along 300 days a year. Unfortunately, almost every year this place always attacked by a powerful strom.

A couple of time ago for four days, I visited the Bahamas with my family. Luckily, we stayed at the Sun Rise Beach Club which located on the edge of the beach.

From the balcony we could see the tourists who were sunbathing on the beach, swimming, diving, spurred his boat at sea, parasailing or just stroll the beach lane as I do. The beach is very clean with white sand and blue sea water clear.

I also stopped at the Atlantis Hotel, which was inspired from the Atlantis - the lost-continent. The hotel is very big and spacious. From a distance, we could see shapes curved building with towers decorated like a castle and surrounded by Atlantis Beach and Paradise Beach.

Not only that, the hotel is also surrounded by artificial lakes are very beautiful, among others, Paradise Lagoon which inhabited a small fish with the colors beautiful, inhabited Stingray Lagoon stingrays types Spotted Eagle Ray.

Then, Hibiscus Lagoon inhabited Bahamas turtles and Mayan Temple Lagoon inhabited by fish species Caribbean Reef sharks, Silky Sharks and Nurse Sharks. Its beautiful!.

In the Atlantis hotel there is also interesting attractions, in the Great Hall of Waters there are a large fish tank was decorated by various types of sea-water fish such as Snapper, Jellyfish, Lobster and others.

Outside the hotel there is also paradise water games for children, Aquaventure, which built a very modern and Dolphin Cay, if we get lucky, we can watch the dolphins are fed.

Still at the Atlantis hotel, there is a very large casino, there are hundreds of different slot machine casinos. The atmosphere is also very crowded, because the cries and shouts of joy visitors mingled with a loud voice machine casinos, and coins dropped. The fragrance of Kalik Beer (beer Bahamas) add festive atmosphere, reminded us of the atmosphere in Las Vegas.

For those who like to try a variety of good food, Atlantis Hotel is a one good place to choose because there is Nobu, the famous Japanese restaurant good, and Mesa Grill, a restaurant owned by Chef Bobby Flay's famous Food Channel on television.

Walking behind the hotel along the Atlantis Marina are filled with rows of sailboats, a row of restaurants lining of Carmine's Italian Restaurant to Burger Johnny Rocket and the shops of Versace to the Dooney & Bourke and souvenir booths at the Marina Village complex.

We decided to try the Bahamian conch (meat from large shells) in Bimini Restaurant, I ordered a conch salad, conch meat slices mixed with slices of mango, sweet corn and lettuce, fresh taste, a plate of mahi-mahi fish and a glass of virgin fuel pinacolada. In the terrace restaurant, a band played Latin tunes to accompany guests to enjoy food.

At noon, we rented a mini van, to cruise the streets of Nassau. Nassau streets are not too wide, there are a lot of corners and a little dusty. Historic buildings in this city, like Christ Church Cathedral, Parliament Square and Government House is an architectural mix of Spanish and English.

No wonder that ancient native Bahamas, Lucayan, never made contact with the Spanish when Christopher Columbus stopped in the area until about 1700 then the British arrived in the Bahamas archipelago until the Bahamas became part of British Commonwealth countries.

I remember the message from a friend, when visiting the Bahamas, it s not flawless before we tasted its Rum Cake. So, we stopped at the souvenir shop on Bay Street. Besides Rum Cake and craft items typical of the Bahamas are made of shells, there are also sold various clothing and wrap cloth / fabric beach with colors bright.

There are several kinds of the Rum Cake,Original Bacardi Rum Cake, Chocolate Rum Cake, Rum Cake Coconut Rum Cake and Vanilla. After tasted a few pieces of cake slices,I decided to buy two middle cans of Chocolate Rum Cake.

Unfortunately we could not see and enjoy Junkanoo, thetraditional and musical dance usually performed at parade along Bay Street to celebrated Bahamas Independence Day in July.

I almost forget about the time. It passed so quickly, we have four days in the Bahamas, a country with beautiful beaches ....
